Kampala, Uganda — Several areas across Kampala experienced severe flooding this morning after hours of heavy rainfall disrupted traffic, businesses, and public transportation.

Residents in low-lying areas including Bwaise, Natete, and parts of Nakawa reported water entering homes and shops, forcing some families to evacuate temporarily. Major roads were heavily congested as motorists struggled to navigate flooded sections.

Authorities urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel and advised drivers to use alternative routes while emergency teams continued clearing blocked drainage channels.

No fatalities had been officially confirmed by press time, though local leaders reported property damage in multiple neighborhoods.

More updates to follow as the situation develops.
